The State News

What is God's message for the state? Indeed there is a message. One that has been forgotten for centuries in some areas. In order to understand the message we will examine the base of modern western societies, the constitution.

Let us first look at how a constitution is created. The constitution of the USA is one example of the process. There was a group of people living in the British colonies on the American continent. They lived under the rule of King George III.

However, they claimed that the rule of Great Britain was unjust and did not secure the rights of the governed in the colonies. They claimed in The Declaration of Independence that governments derive their power from the consent of the governed. Because a considerable number of  people charged Great Britain with not securing their rights, in addition to other things, they claimed that the governed do not consent and they decided  not to obey the law of King George III. They armed themselves and fought against the armies of Great Britain which were sent to uphold the law of Great Britain.

After driving out the authorities of Great Britain they gave the people living in the colonies a new set of laws called The Constitution of the USA.

Let us now take a closer look and check whether the colonists’ justification for creating The Constitution  was valid: “Governments derive their authority from the consent of the governed.” and “governments are instituted to secure the happiness of the governed.”

Did the new government secure the rights of the governed? Slavery was upheld and there were a considerable number of people being enslaved. These people or their parents were kidnapped in Africa and sold and brought to the USA against their will. They had no freedom. It is fair and true to say that the treatment the colonists received by the government of Great Britain was far better than how the slaves were treated by the new government and it's laws. Capturing people and enslaving them is a capital crime. Therefore the new government and The Constitution did not at all secure the rights of all the governed.

What about the claim that the government derives it's power from the consent of the governed?

The slaves, most of the women and males who were not landowners  were not allowed to vote. Not even half of the governed were allowed to vote. Therefore we do not know whether the government power was derived by the people's consent. The people rebelling against the King did not want to know.

Does the process of voting make sure that there is a consent of the governed? Nowadays there is no slavery and African Americans and white males without land and women are also allowed to vote. Does the voting system secure the consent of the governed? Let us look at the USA right now. The approval rating for Congress is around 20%. This approval rating shows that the election is a fake consent. It is a system that pretends that there is consent whereas there might be none.

If there is no consent what gives one group of people the right to rule over others to set up laws others have to obey? A constitution needs to have authority. Where does the authority come from? There are people who think what they say must be obeyed and force others to obey them. The people who rebelled against the King of England and introduced The Constitution of the USA not only expected the people in the colonies, living at their time to obey what they said, but also generations to come. Until this present day if they cannot meet the conditions set by some people they cannot change the constitution.

Please stop and think about this carefully. The authors of the constitution just claimed authority over many generations of people and expected them to obey. They behaved as if the laws they had come up with had come down from heaven itself. They justified their behavior by declaring that their authority was derived by the consent of the people. They enslaved part of the people and attacked some others who were loyal to the King of England and did not allow most women and white males who did not own land to express their consent or disconsent by voting in an election. After doing all this they claim that their authority is derived from the consent of the governed. Today we have polls and we can tell much more about the true consent of the governed. The majority of the people do not consent with congress. Donald Trump did not receive the majority of votes. It is said that the election was not about who is liked rather than who is disliked and voted against. Last but not least, it must be stated that any consent of the voters that is based on lies of the cadidate is no consent. If Donald Trump, for instance, is elected based on his promises, and then in case he does not keep some or most of them you cannot speak of people consenting with him. They consented with him and what he said. If he changes his mind the consent is probably gone by part of the people electing him.

The justification for humans to usurp power over fellow humans is all false if they leave out the true source of authority which comes from God. Instead of submitting to God and His just laws they sit on His throne demanding the people  obey what they say.

There are Christians in the USA who claim that some of the people involved in the rebellion against the King of England and the authors of The Constitution were Christians and that Christian values were incorporated in the constitution and therefore the USA has a Christian heritage and the rebellion was somehow Christian.

This perspective forgets about the clear disobedience of the colonists against the Word of God. The Word of God says do not rebel against the King and whoever does so not only rebels against him but also against the ordinance of God. This commandment was also given by the Apostle Paul to people living in Rome around the time of the Roman emperor Nero. Who can argue that King George III was worse than Nero. Nero persecuted Christians and it is said that Nero dipped Christians in oil and set them on fire in his garden at night as a source of light. If the Word of God commands people to submit to Nero's reign how much more does it command to submit to King George III. Furthermore, The Declaration of Independence denies the authority of Jesus Christ and replaces it with the “consent of the governed”. Last but not least, the outcome of the revolution was most shameful hypocrisy because on the one hand a group of people complained about not having enough freedom but on the other hand they allowed or actively participated in keeping human beings as slaves who had been kidnapped from other countries and sold. Furthermore, the new nation was involved in the slaughter of the Native Americans. The law of God condemns all this. How can it be Christian if Christian doctrine condemns it. No, nothing is Christian when it is condemned by the law of God: kidnapping and selling people is against the law of God, rebelling against the authorities is against the law of God, and attributing the authority of government to the consent of the governed instead of Jesus Christ is against the Word of God.

Let us now look at the truth about the authority of governments and who is giving it to them.

The Bible clearly states that it is God who gives authority to the governments. He gives the authority and in return expects the governmenst to obey him. The following verses from the Bible state the relationship between God and governments.

Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,
“Let us burst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
“As for me, I have set my King
on Zion, my holy hill.”
I will tell of the decree:
The Lord said to me, “You are my Son;
today I have begotten you.
Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron
and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”
Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (Psalm 2, ESV)

God gives the authority to Jesus Christ and from Jesus Christ the authorities of the nations derive their authority. God expects them to obey His son Jesus Christ. Therefore, whatever law is given to a country must fully and completely submit to the authority of Jesus Christ and comply to His laws and commandments. Therefore there is absolutely no freedom of religion in respect to governments. Governments are not allowed to obey whatever God they choose. They are not allowed to ignore or deny Jesus Christ. They are not allowed to ignore or abolish the law of Christ. All their laws must enforce or comply with God's laws.

Governments must submit to Jesus Christ in word and deed.

What are major teachings that deny the authority of Jesus Christ in word and deed and truth?

Right now we can see a couple of them which can be divided into old school and new school attempts to dethrone Jesus Christ over governments.

Islam and the papal system are old school attempts to dethrone Jesus Christ. Constitutional democracies denying the supreme authority of Jesus Christ and His law and communism are new school attempts.  All of them have five things in common.

  • As I said before they deny in word or in deed the supreme authority of Jesus Christ and His law over them and all the people
  • They are corrupt. They make one group rich by not bringing justice to all the oppressed and poor. They promise the people to make their lives better but they fail to set up righteousness and justice.
  • There are crowds of simple minded people who believe their promises and claims
  • Unrighteousness grows
  • Jesus Christ, the King of kings, has or will overcome them

Why is the authority of Jesus Christ over all governments not taught in all churches?

The fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of true wisdom, has been neglected in Christian churches. It has been replaced by wisdom from below. Wisdom from below is either just human thoughts or devilish doctrines. You can find both in the churches. This wisdom from below has opened the door for twisting of history and

Scripture and opened the door for heresies which are taught and believed within the body of Christ.

I will demonstrate one key false interpretation which is so widely misunderstood but it proves the point I make: That all governments must obey Jesus Christ in word and deed. Follow this link and you can read the true meaning of Jesus words to Pilate.

Lastly I will show the consequence of falling away from Jesus Christ on part of the governments.

Who protects a country and what is the source for enough resources for a good life? The wisest statesman, King Solomon, says it like this:

Unless the LORD builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep (Psalm 127:1-2)

If governments turn away from the Lord they also turn away from His protection and supply and they usually turn to the other masters of this world like riches, human wisdom and alliances. Riches replace the Lord Almighty and the thinking degrades into well known essence of US politics: “it is the economy, stupid”. A consequence of the falling away from the source of life is the love of money which is the root of all evil. When it comes to riches you suddenly see governments whose ideology are contrary to each other sit at one table with each other making business with each other. It is no secret anymore that money controls governments.

The people do not understand however that the only way to be freed from the rule of money is to turn to the one and only true God and His King, Jesus Christ. Personally everybody can enter his kingdom right away. What many do not understand is that a government must do  likewise to be freed from the rule of money and riches and violence. Have you understood that riches have filled the vacuum that the rebellion against Jesus Christ as King of Kings has left?  Only if a country returns to Jesus Christ as their head of state  can it be freed from the true tyranny that controls the governments. Also communism, which stands up against private riches, is caught up by this system and the elite ends up enriching itself as well.

The governments who do not submit to Jesus Christ are not free. People all over the world realize the corruption of the system but most of them right now do not understand that the root cause is the the rebellion against the King of Kings Jesus Christ.

The corrupt governments and their systems use all kinds of propaganda to tell the people that they will make their lives better and crowds of simple minded people believe it and follow them. The propaganda also points out corruption in other systems and then they deceive the people by arguing that these corruptions are the root causes. In the USA Washington is blamed or Wall Street. It is true that Washington and Wall Street are involved in the corruption but they are not the root cause. The root cause is that Jesus Christ is not been submitted to in politics. Governments that fall away from Jesus Christ fall in the hands of the other master of this world: A mystery, the harlot Babylon.

The propaganda has also infected the teachings within the church. The doctrine that Jesus Christ is the supreme head of all governments can be used nowadays in the western world as a good indicator whether a preacher of the Gospel stands up for a faithful testimony of an unpopular truth or whether he seeks popularity and a comfortable life. Does he preach this unpopular truth or does he join ranks with a rebellious world and also chant: "We do not want this man Jesus Christ to rule over us."

This doctrine is not popular and preaching it does not secure popularity or riches right now. A corrupt preacher will most likely follow corrupt politicians in denying this doctrine. This way you can detect corrupt preachers of the Gospel nowadays. I say nowadays because Jesus Christ predicts that a time will come when this teaching will be widespread and accepted all over the world. 500 years ago Jesus Christ was replaced as head of governments by one man in Rome, who is called  the pope, who claimed to be the representive of Christ on earth and that governments must obey Him. This was a devilish attempt to dethrone Jesus Christ as King of Kings by a wolf in sheep's clothing. Martin Luther preached the truth and proved that the pope is not the voice of Jesus Christ and that he taught lies and enriched himself with these lies. Governments must not obey a church representative but Jesus Christ himself and they must not submit to what a church says what Jesus says but what Jesus says himself. The time will come when the truth about Jesus Christ being the head of all governments will be globally accepted and then we will see "steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky." (ESV Psalm 85:10-11)

Right now communism and constitutional democracy without submission to Jesus Christ are worshipped among others. The world suffers from inequality, oppression and injustice.

The people of this planet need deliverance from corrupt governments. The only solution is to submit to the King of Kings Jesus Christ, because he is the only one with the heart and wisdom to bring justice to the poor,  to plead the cause of the oppressed and to teach the nations to turn their swords into plowshares.

Let us pray together for His kingdom to come and overcome the corrupt systems of the world which are called kingdom of the world in the Bible.

Jesus promised to bring all the oppressed to safety. Let us join in prayer for Him to fulfill His promise. Let us pray that the governments will do what Jesus commands them to do:

Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (Psalm 2:11-12, ESV)
